Barça Lassa 105-73 UCAM Múrcia: Fantastic final period

A tight game is sorted by 37 points in a devastating final period, and the basketball team go 7-1 and top of the Liga ACB

A fine victory for Barça Lassa against UCAM Murcia followed on from the equally brilliant showing in the Euroleague at Khimki, with the 37-12 in the final period proving decisive. Blazic (18), Heurtel (15) and Kuric (13) led the scoring to send Barça 7-1 and top of the ACB table.

The 16-4 lead after five minutes suggested the way this game was going, with Kuric and Oriola leading the early play. But Murcia eventually managed to get their scoring to flow and had closed the gap to 25-17 by the end of the period.

And the visitors were right back in it at 27-25, but that’s when Blazic found his A-game and Barça were back in full control by the interval (44-37).

Dominance in offensive rebounds and some sharp shooting pushed the difference up to +17, and yet Murcia still refused to lie down and be counted. At 64-60, the game was wide open, and the 68-61 going into the final period meant there was still some work to be done.

But Barça got that job finished and out of the way in quick and stupendous fashion. 14 uncontested points to start the quarter as good as sewed up the win. The rest of the game was just a case of holding onto that lead and eventually taking the honours 105-73.
