UCAM Múrcia – Barça Lassa: Victory through hard work (55-61)

The Blaugranes get a good win at a difficult venue after fighting for 40 minutes

Barça Lassa won against UCAM Murcia (55-61) in one of the more difficult venues in the League. Pesic's men remained ahead for almost all of the match but had to fight hard to earn the win in the end. Ante Tomic with 13 points and five rebounds was the most outstanding Barça player.

The game was characterised by the low scoring of the two teams at the start despite Barça’s eventual dominance on the scoreboard. In the second period, the visitors' good defence and control of the rebound saw them extend their advantage (16-23, min 16), but by the last moments of the period the hosts had reduced the deficit to 22-26.

UCAM Murcia never gave up and though Barça pulled away again (27-36, min 24), some great play saw the third period end 38-42, and with the hosts very much in the ascendency at that point.

Match decided during the last period

To their credit, Pesic's men dug in again to move further ahead in the final period, and their nine point advantage with two minutes to go allowed them to see out a tight and physical match with confidence. Barça Lassa are next in action on Friday, March 9 at the Palau Blaugrana against Red Star (9.00pm CET).
