Barça had great success in the Euroleague in a match that they dominated from start to finish

Barça Lassa dominated their Euroleague match against Valencia Basket (89-71), despite the attempts of the visitors to cut the deficit.

A very intense start from the hosts allowed them to quickly move into a 5-0 lead. Sito Alonso’s side were solid in defence, and though València responded well, three triples from Moerman gave Barça command of the match (17-11, min 7). Heurtel led from the front in attack, with two more triples from Koponen and one from Orihuela pushing the score along nicely (33-24, min 24).

Barça on top

In the second period, the Blaugrana allowed the visitors to score a number of points from the free throw line, but continued to press home their advantage and were 18 points up at the break (50-32).

The pattern continued after the restart but València wouldn’t give up and managed to close the gap slightly. It was in the last period, however, when the Blaugrana took the opportunity to go on the counterattack, ending the game as they’d begun it. This Sunday, at the Palau, the teams meet again, this time in the Endesa League (6.30pm CET).
