FC Barcelona Lassa managed to beat UCAM Murcia (83-99) in a fixture which looked like it might cause problems. The blaugranas had to dig deep as this was their second game in less than 48 hours. Bartzokas' men didn't let tiredness affect them and they played well throughout.

Holmes' promising start

The game against the team from Murcia was not an easy one for the Catalans. In the first few minutes the scores were level and UCAM Murcia were competitive. Barça started dominating the game more following a good period of play from the debutant Holmes who was playing his first Endesa League fixture of the season. The new signing scored six points in a row and showed an ability to light up the court with some spectacular scores. Rice and Navarro were also prominent and Tomic imposed himself on the game as well. Barça Lassa were playing well and making things uncomfortable for the home team with an intense defensive game.

Tomic and Koponen help Catalans dominate

During the second quarter, Bartzokas' men continued to play at pace and they looked to capitalise swiftly on any mistakes from the opposition. Koponen controlled proceedings in this quarter with nine points. Barça opened up a small lead in the scoreline forcing the home team's coach to ask for a time out. Óscar Quintava's attempt to disrupt the Catalans rhythm was unsuccessful and Barça continued to lead with two minutes to go until half time. The team from Murcia managed to pull a few points back and at the end of the first two quarters Barça led by two points (39-41).

Intensity increases after break

Barça Lassa started the third quarter looking to take control of the game. Bartzokas' team played with real intensity both in attack and in defence and they slowly managed to close in on their sixth victory in a row. Tomic, who was the most impressive player on the court, continued creating chances and scoring crucial baskets. Even though the difference in the scores had become substantial Murcia kept trying to close the gap until the final whistle. Barça Lassa return to Catalonia with a hard fought victory and have now won their last six games. The Catalans played welll and managed to maintain the high levels of performance seen in recent weeks.
