FC Barcelona's opening fixture is on Sunday and sees them take on ICL Manresa once again, following last night's victory against them in the Catalan League final. Get ready for the new season with ten key facts about the Endesa League:

  1. All the Endesa League games will be shown exclusively in Spain by Movistar+/Yomvi 
  2. Tyrese Rice tipped to be the competition's MVP. Managers such as Sito Alonso (Baskonia), Luis Casimiro (Herbalife Gran Canaria) or Salva Maldonado (Movistar Estudiantes) were quick to pick the American-born point guard as the most likely winner of the MVP award.
  3. The league will be contested by 17 teams this coming season meaning there will be two scheduled rest days for each team built into the calendar. Barça's are in Week 2 and the Week 18.
  4. No Christmas Clásico this season. In the last few years Barça have faced Real Madrid around the holiday season. However, this year they face them in November and March.
  5. Barça Lassa take the prize for the tallest team in the league with an average height of 2.01m. Georgios Bartzokas' men will have an edge in this department over many of their rivals.
  6. Ante Tomic, the towering Croatian pivot is the second tallest player in the league measuring 2.18m. He is pipped by Artem Pustovyi, of Río Natura Monbus, who has a 1cm advantage.
  7. Juan Carlos Navarro, the player with the most titles. The homegrown shooting guard is a highly experienced player in the Endesa League. In terms of titles he leads the way with an impressive eight league titles.
  8. Rice and Petteri Koponen are not the only dynamic duo who have signed for a new club having played together previously. As well as Barça's new signings, who shared a dressing room in Russia with Khimki, there are three other pairs: Baskonia's Shane Larkin and Bargnani, who played together at Brooklyn Nets; ICL Manresa's reinforcements Petar Aranitovic and Aleksandar Cvetkovic, who know each other from Partizan; and finally, Randolph and Draper signed for Real Madrid from Lokomotiv Kuban.
  9. Barça and Real Madrid to start with a win? History suggests they will, as they are the two teams who have won the most opening games in the last seven years, with an excellent record of six wins out of seven.
  10. Bartzokas is not the only manager bedding in as seven other coaches will be debuting with a new team this weekend.
