Abrines was once again on fine form throughout / VICTOR SALGADO - FCB

FC Barcelona Lassa remain top of Liga Endesa following a convincing away win over Retabet.es GBC (84-69).

The home side set out their stall with a zonal defensive system but Xavi Pascual’s side read their intentions early on. After seven minutes, Barça were 18-9 ahead thanks to some clinical finishing from Oleson and Abrines.

And despite the Basques reducing the margin to four, Vezenkov and Perperoglou ensure that the Catalans ended the quarter with a significant lead (26-18).

Barça entered a purple patch in the second quarter, as Abrines and Vezenkov helped the side reach a 47-29 lead by the halfway point of the match.

Marcus Landry managed ten points in just five minutes for the home side to bring the margin down to 14, with the third period ending 67-50 in Barça’s favour.

Nevertheless, the Catalans were always in control and the final quarter handed Pascual’s men the chance to add some gloss to the victory, ending the game 84-69. The win means that Barça remain top of the table with 23 wins from 25 matches, one more than Valencia.
