Satoransky converts in a tense game in Madrid/ ACBMEDIA

Barça Lassa had to sweat and sweat to make it ten wins in a row in the Liga Endesa and stay top of the table (25-2) in what was Álex Abrines’s 150th game in the ’ACB. With Satoransky (20 points) leading the way in offence and Dorsey exquisite in defence, Xavi Pascual’s side managed to hold on to grab a win at Montakit Fuenlabrada, who failed to take advantage of a Popovic possessions sixteen seconds from the end that would almost certainly have won them the game.

With two late absentees in Navarro and Doellman this was game in which all number of adversities had to be overcome, but by the end of the first period the lead of 14-28 suggested things were all on good track. The lead rose to 19-34 before Fuenlabrada truly found an answer, a 6-0 streak that got the ‘madrileños’ back within touching distance at 32-38, but a couple of threes from FCB meant they’d be going in for the interval at 36-43.

Fuenlabrada continued to cut into Barça’s lead to get things back to just 57-59, and they eventually manage to tie the game on 66 each. And from there it was suddenly back to 70-78 thanks to consecutive scores from Perperoglou, Abrines and Arroyo and a fascinating game would stand at 74-80 with just two minutes to play.

A Scott slam-dunk set up a pulsating final minute at 79-80. Dorsey then converted a free throw but a 3-pointer from Popovic had Montakit Fuenlabrada leading for the first time in the game (82-81). Samuels followed a TO by slamming Barça back ahead (82-83) and then Popovic had the possession to win, but was denied by some spectacular defending by Dorsey. Oleson sentenced affairs with a free throw that left things at 82-84 and that was the tenth league win a row.

Attention now turns to Lokomotiv Kubanin what promises to be a terrific Euroleague quarter final series.
