30 year old Stratos Perperoglou of Greece has joined FC Barcelona Lassa from Turkish club Anadolu Efes. Pending a medical examination, he will sign for the next two seasons.

In thirteen years as a pro, the small forward has won a splendid reputation for both his shooting and defending, while also offering plenty of less tangible benefits that coaches appreciate in a player.

He started out with modest outfit Ilisiakos, where 2003/04 was his breakthrough season, enough to catch the eye of Panionios, for whom he played 97 league games and averaged 7.1 points a game. But it was after his move to Panathinaikos that he really made his name, helping the Greek giants to two Euroleague titles in 2009 and 2011.

In 2012/13, he switched to his club’s biggest rival, Olympiacos, winning his third Euroleague in his first season with the club, beating Real Madrid in the final. After two years in Piraeus, in June 2014 the six-time Greek League All-Star moved abroad for the first time to play for Anadolu Efes in Turkey. He has also played with the Greek national team, with whom he won the bronze medal at the FIBA EuroBasket 2009.

Perperoglou thus becomes the fourth new addition to Barça’s 2015/16 basketball roster after Nigerian power forward Shane Lawal, who played college hoops for the Oakland Golden Grizzlies and Wayne State Warriors, Senegalese centre Moussa Diagné, formerly of Fuenlabrada in the ACB, and Louisville graduate Samardo Samuels, a Jamaican power forward and centre.

All four are set to become familiar faces at the Palau Blaugrana this season, but to give you a better idea of what’s in store, here are videos of each of Barça’s new players in action.
