Doellman scores on his way to the MVP against Manresa / VICTOR SALGADO - FCB

“It’s always special to come back to Manresa” said Justin Doellman before Sunday’s derby against his former club, in a town where he still has strong friendships. But once the niceties were over, the graduate of Xavier University (Cincinnati) got down to business with a stellar display, scoring 14 points (a 100% conversion rate), and taking seven rebounds.

Despite missing a couple of games through injury, Doellman has been enjoying a stunning season, and is one of the top players in the ACB both for points and rebounds. Xavi Pascual regards the American power forward as one of his most important men, and has used him for an average of 24 minutes a game in domestic play. In his second year at Barça Lassa, Doellman’s stats have improved considerably on his first, taking him back to the same kind of level that won him the 2013/14 MVP award at Valencia.
