Barça Lassa took a convincing 96-81 win away at Herbalife Gran Canaria in the 16th game of this season’s ACB Liga. Xavi Pascual’s team based their victory on a solid offensive display, recording 11 of 20 from the three point line. 96 points is their second best attacking total in the league so far this season behind the 97 scored against Sevilla. Abrines moved past 900 points in the Endesa League, Doellman recorded his 200th appearance in the competition and Juan Carlos Navarro set a new record with 622 games in the same shirt.

The first quarter was a close affair. Barça Lassa moved the ball around well but Gran Canaria kept themselves in the game thanks to the efforts of Omic under the rim and the shooting of Báez. Abrines, however, scored 4 from 4 in the first half in three pointers, to go with his five against Tenerife the previous week in the Canary Islands.

Barça’s shooting from distance gave them the advantage and Perperoglou, Vezenkov, Abrines and Oleson all scored to give the visitors a 16 point lead at the break.

In the second half Doellman (11) and Oleson (7) combined to add their weight to an impressive offensive display in the third quarter. Barça Lassa’s lead reached 36 points at one stage, Xavi Pascual’s side always in control.

In the final quarter Gran Canaria came back into the match with Barça easing but still with enough in the tank to ease to a 96-81 win.
