FC Barcelona Lassa’s opponents in the first stage of the Euroleague 2015/16 were revealed in Thursday’s group stage draw: Panathinaikos, Lokomotiv Kuban, Zalgiris, Pinar Karsiyaka and Stelmet.

The road to the Final Four in Berlin begins with the 24 teams divided into four groups of six, and Barça will be competing in Group C.

The draw means they will be travelling to Greece (Panathinaikos of Athens), Russia (Lokomotiv Kuban of Krasnodar), Lithuania (Zalgiris of Kaunas), Turkey (Pinar Karsiyaka of Izmir) and Poland (Stelmet of Zielona Góra).

The four best placed teams progress into the Top 16 stage to fight for a place in the straight elimination quarter finals, the winners of which will be heading for the German capital.

Statement by technical secretary Joan Creus:

"Compared with groups we have had in recent years, I’m pretty happy with this one”

"We will have a lot of long road trips and a lot of these teams are in construction so we don’t know how good they will be, but there are some champions of major leagues and some traditional contenders”

" Karsiyaka had an amazing season, they’re getting better and better and have some great individual players. They’ve also lost some big stars so we’ll have to and see what kind of team they’ve got. But I’m sure they’ll be a difficult opponent”
