FC Barcelona coach says Turow will be tough

Xavi Pascual says next rival has been competitive and mixes it up on defense. The best team in Poland promises to be a tough opponent

Head Coach Xavi Pascual and big man Maciej Lampe spoke to the media on Thursday morning ahead of Friday's Euroleague showdown with PGE Turow Zgorzelec. It is the Polish team's Euroleague debut after winning their domestic league last season. Among their leaders, Americans Mardy Collins and Tony Taylor are averaging 22 and 11 points per game, respectively.

Turow are going to be tougher than people think

Pascual offered his analysis of their next opponent. “This match is very important for us. Our opponent have been competetive, despite two straight losses, and really mix it up on defense. And they can shoot, too. They'll be tougher than a lot of people think," he mused.

He also said that Juan Carlos Navarro is "back training with the group, but we'll see" whether or not he'll play. "If he does play, it will be briefly."

We have to treat every game like an elimination game

When asked about the Euroleague, Pascual said that the draw had given Barça a tough group. "We're looking at all the games as if they were finals," he explained.

Maciej Lampe, Barça's Polish center, said that Turow "is the best team in Poland, and they played better than their Euroleague results would indicate."
