Barça won away to Andorra to go 12-5 in the Liga Endesa in a game they got off to the perfect start with the first eight points, although the home side immediately responded with six of their own. Offensive errors from both sides meant a shoddy first period ended 12-12. Former Barça man Víctor Sada led the side from the Pyrenees in the second period, where it was again impossible to split the teams. 25-25 at the break.

Barça needed to improve both in offence and defence, and that’s precisely what they did in the third period. Àlex Abrines, who finished with 19 points, converted four consecutive threes and the visitors finally broke away, winning the period by ten (18-28). DeShaun Thomas (14) was also on fine scoring form, with Tomic dominating on the paint against another former FCB player, Nathan Jawai.

Barça handled the final period to perfection, keeping Andorra down to a final tally of 56, with Doellman making a huge contribution towards the end. The win never looked in doubt as things ground to a halt, and now it’s a case of waiting to see how other games go this weekend to see if Barça can finally confirm participation in the Copa del Rey.
