FC Barcelona formidable at the Palau Blaugrana

The basketball team has only lost one league match at home this season

The ACB Final switches venue on Wednesday to Barcelona. Real Madrid lead the series 2-0, so FC Barcelona will need back-to-back victories at the Palau Blaugrana to get back level and take the final into game five back in Madrid. And they are more than capable of doing that. The Catalans were 16-1 at home in the regular season and are 4-0 in end-season games on their home court.

FIATC Joventut is the only team to have won a league match this term at the Palau and that was over seven months ago on November 2, the fifth game of the tournament. Since then, Barça have earned 18 victories on the trot, including one against Madrid (76-68).

14-2 in Euroleague

Barça have also been strong at home in continental matches, with a 14-2 record overall. Ulker and Panathinaikos were the only teams to win in Barcelona, and the victims once again included Real Madrid (85-80).

That’s an impressive overall record in 2014/15 of 34-3. If that can be extended to 36-3, then Barça will have taken the final series into a fifth and decisive game in Madrid.
