As each season goes by, EA7 Emporio Armani seem to get stronger. Fighting your way into the European elite can be a long and laborious process, but the Milanese outfit are going about things in the right way.

They may have lost last season’s top scorer, Keith Langford, but the additions of forward Linas Kleiza and centre Shawn James, plus guards Trenton Meacham and Joe Ragland and swingman Marshoon Brook. And they also have won of the most promising young Italian stars in 21 year old Alessandro Gentile.

Tricky venue

Barça know how hard it is to win at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan. Last season they suffered their first Top 16 there, and it was a convincing win for the home side, 91-63. Barça went on to top the group, but the game was a clear warning of the potential in the EA7 team.

Barça returned to the same arena for the Final Four, and lost again, this time to Real Madrid (100-62). So it’s time to break the jinx and get a decent result against a Milan side that lost its opening fixture away to Fenerbahçe.
