The Euroleague Final Four is right around the corner and FC Barcelona are waiting with anticipation. Captain Juan Carlos Navarro sat down with Barça TV and fcbarcelona.com to talk about the upcoming showdown with Real Madrid: “We’re coming into the game on form. The Final Four is very complicated, but we’ve improved a lot in the last two months and we’re capable of winning it.”
Real Madrid are a complicated rival, they are very good
The captain says that the team are used to the final phase of the competition seeing that Barça have made it to five Final Fours in the past six seasons – and that “it’s not easy to do what we’re doing.” He aded: “Everyone at the Club wants to win. Moreover, it’s our turn.”

When asked about the team’s semi-final rival, Navarro notes “Madrid are the best counterattack team. They are very tough to beat.” He also declares that “the difference in the Copa del Rey came down to one basket and one second. We’ve coming into this match on form.”

The captain is the team’s emblematic player and he’s a leader in European basketball. In fact, he’s the player with the most appearances in the Euroleague ever, the highest all-time scorer and the player with the most three pointers in the competition. “I’m pleased that I’ve broken these records. But I’m interested in winning the Euroleague.”
The Final Four in Paris made me the player I am today
Playing for the Euroleague title is nothing new to Navarro. In Milan the player will feature in his eighth Final Four. The first was in Thessaloniki in 2000, and his second, in 2003 at the Palau Sant Jordi (Barcelona), where he won his first European crown. “It was the first one for the Club and the most important one,” he says.

The Catalan also notes the Final Fours in Prague (2006), Berlin (2009), Istanbul (2012) and London (2013). For the captain, the Final Four in Paris in 2010 brings special memories: “Winning the MVP award and the title was very special. The Final Four in Paris made me the player I am today"
