Barça face CSKA Moscow this evening

There’s a big game in the Palau Blaugrana tonight (20.45 hores / Esport3 / Canal + Deportes). Barça are 1-2 in their Euroleague group and need to get their campaign back on track, but CSKA are one of the toughest teams in the competition. The Russians are 2-1, but struggled to get their two wins. It’s the biggest game of the season so far at the Palau.

FC Barcelona after reaction

The Barça players are determined to get a result tonight in front of their own fans as Juan Carlos Navarro told his press conference yesterday. Not only that, but the captain also promised that they’ll be putting on a show for the home supporters.

FCB go into the game without Erazem Lorbek or Brad Oleson. But although Todorovic, Abrines and Navarro are all carrying minor troubles, they should all be fine to take to the court tonight to make up for home defeat to Nanterre and boost their morale with a win against Ettore Messina and his mighty CSKA.

The opposition

The Russians suffered a heavy reverse on the road at Fenerbahçe (86-60). The bulk of the squad is the same as last year, but they have also added Haynes, Pargo and Fridzon. However, they have just suffered the late setback of losing Croatian Nenad Krstic to injury, and he hasn’t come to Barcelona. Neither has Zozulin, and although Vorontsevich is theoretically unfit too, he has made the journey west and may yet feature on Friday’s encounter.

Important reminders

Two important things to bear in mind for tonight’s match at the Palau:

1- Adults bringing children under 8 will need to go to the ticket offices to obtain the necessary pass.

2- Only 2013/14 season tickets will be valid for entry to the Palau this evening.
