Xavi Pascual

We’re a new team and we have to grow,” said Xavi Pascual on September 23rd, just after the season started. Five months later, his team put in a colossal tournament performance and claimed the Copa del Rey. It’s the tenth title in the manager’s career with Barça Regal. “It’s really great to win! The feeling is incredible! We’re very pleased. It’s hard to be a winner in modern basketball,” said Pascual this Sunday.

“Four finals and three titles in four years says a lot about us,” said Pascual in Vitoria. Barça Regal’s run in the tournament is even more spectacular if we take into account that the manager was appointed on the 14th of February of 2008. Pascual has led his men to 14 out of 25 possible titles and Barça Regal have reached the final round in 21 of 25 competitions.

Xavi Pascual, whose contract is set to expire in the 2014/15 season, has won the Euroleague, three Ligas Endesa, three Copas del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups. In addition, he’s always led Barça Real to the Liga Endesa final and to three Euroleague Final Fours - Berlin, Paris and Istanbul. The manager is an expert at getting the best from his players and, perhaps more importantly, he always keeps his men motivated. The Final Four in London and the Liga Endesa playoffs are on the horizon and the team is zeroing in on the silverware.
