The Spanish basketball team have completed all of their warm up matches ahead of the London Olympic Games with a record of seven victories out of eight games played. Scariolo’s men, with the Azulgranas Juan Carlos Navarro and Víctor Sada, are now focused on their Olympic opener against China (Sunday at 17.45). The Iberian team's only defeat was at the hands of the United States, this Tuesday at the Palau Stan Jordi. Team USA won by 100 to 78 in the run up to the Olympics.

The match against Team USA saw the Barça Regal captain take center stage. Navarro reached the 200-match mark with the Spanish national team and, before tipoff, he, accompanied by his wife and daughter, received a tribute from the Palau Sant Jordi crowd and the Spanish national team.

Defeat at the hands of the favorites

16,200 fans filled the Palau in Barcelona to watch the rematch of the Gold Medal game of the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Mike Krzyzewski’s men, led by LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, comfortably beat the Spanish team (100-78).

Navarro, who featured in Spain’s starting five, scored 11 points, captured 2 rebounds, gave an assist and received four personal fouls in the 22 minutes he spent on the court. Sada scored three points, secured one rebound, gave an assist and won possession back twice in his 13 minutes on the court.
