Following the appearance of certain stories in the press in reference to the refereeing of the first game of the Euroleague quarter final series between FC Barcelona Regal and Panathinaikos BC, the Club wishes to state the following:
1. The accusations being made are contrary to FC Barcelona’s transparency and way of operating.
2. FC Barcelona, in all of its sports and disciplines, has always defended fair play and proper conduct.
3. Given the irregularities that can occur during a match due to human error, FC Barcelona has always demanded that its professionals exercise caution in their comments about match officials and show the utmost respect for our sporting opponents.
4. FC Barcelona has always shown the utmost respect for the clubs, players and coaches it has faced, as well as the bodies that govern professional sport.
