Barça Regal have returned to Turkey this Friday to play against Besiktas at the Abdi Ipekçi. The arena always offers up a spectacular atmosphere throughout the entirety of the games played there. It's certain, the Blaugrana will come up against a team that will be urged on by its fans throughout the whole match. Matchday 8 of the Euroleague offers up an extremely attractive match between two teams that, despite both teams already having a secured spot in Top 16, will fight to preserve the honour of their respective clubs.

Blaugrana and Turks are first and third in Group D, respectively. Besiktas’ attack is efficient and devastating and it will certainly test Barça’s defence.

Jerrels and Christopher, high-profile scorers

In the first match between the two sides, at the Palau Blaugrana, the American Curtis Jerrells showed himself to be one of the most dangerous men for Besiktas thanks to his ability to direct his team going forward and his shooting accuracy. Jerrells is the third highest scorer in the Euroleague, with an average of 18.43 points per match.

It’s worth keeping in mind that the American is constantly flanked by two loyal and dangerous comrades. Patrick Christopher is a pure shooter from the field, his accuracy from the three-point line is 52%, and he averaged 10 three-pointers per match.

The final piece to Besiktas’ devastating trio is the Croat Damir Markota, who despite standing 208 centimeters tall is able to sink shots from anywhere on the court. The versatile player is good under the basket and he’s always ready to let loose from the field when he’s not given room in the paint.

Without Navarro and Mickeal

It’s obvious that Xavi Pascual’s men will have to play at an extremely high level to beat Besiktas at the Abdi Ipekçi. It won’t be easy, especially seeing that Juan Carlos Navarro and Pete Mickeal, both injured, didn’t make the trip to Turkey. Players like Marcelinho, Lorbek and Tomic, who are all on form, will need to be on target to cover the void left by two of the team’s most prolific scorers. Pascual has named the young player from Barça Regal B, Mario Hezonja, to the team for this evening’s match. It’s Hezonja’s first call up to the senior side for a Euroleague match.
