Despite what record books may say, Barça Regal is determined to match last year’s achievement. To start with, this Sunday the team is obliged to win the fourth game of the Endesa League final against Real Madrid to take the series to a fifth game (7 pm, TVE1 and TV3). In the three games played so far Barça has scored 72 points but the players know they have to improve in defence and, above all, control the defensive rebound to avoid handing Real Madrid a second or third bite of the cherry.

Turning the series around is going to be difficult but not impossible. Under coach Xavi Pascual, the team has shown on numerous occasions that it’s capable of overcoming any adversity. The Barça coach is confident that his players will once again show courage, attitude and fight.

Almost perfect

Beating Real Madrid means pulling off a near-perfect performance, both in defence and in attack. As well as the talents of Sada, Navarro, Jasikevicius and Wallace, Tomic, Marcelinho, Oleson, Ingles and company will have to be at their best.  Lorbek seems to have recovered from the concussion he suffered on Tuesday.

Real Madrid is well aware of the never-say-die attitude of the current Endesa League champions and is taking nothing for granted. Felipe Reyes, the star of the third game is keeping his feet on the ground: “Last year we got carried away and let a great chance slip by”. This Sunday, Barça Regal will be trying to make history repeat itself and, as always, the Palau will have a vital influence.
