Final Lliga Endesa

More emotion, more nerves, more tension and more spectacle. The Liga Endesa Play Offs reach the third game this evening and Barça Regal, having won the right to win the series on their home court, will be looking to make the most of their win in the second game in Madrid. So far, this has been the closest playoff series in history, with just three points between the teams following the 76-72 and 71-72 results in the first two games.

Xavi Pascual’s team have achieved their objective of taking at least one win from the two away matches and now they have the chance to take the title at the Palau. It won’t be easy though and no team have ever actually won a league play off coming from 1-0 down. The last time these two met a t the Palau, Barça won  96-89, with 33 points from Navarro.

Sweating on Lorbek

Barça’s main worry ahead of this game is the fitness of Erazem Lorbek after the Slovenian suffered a nasty bang on the head in the second game. If he can’t make it,  Tomic, Mavrokefalidis, Wallace and Todorovic will have to up their games to keep out Madrid’s inside play.

Madrid are determined to put Tuesday’s defeat behind them and coach Pablo Laso insisted on Thursday that his players are ready to win the third game. There’s certainly plenty ast stake in a game Xavi Pascual sees as “key” to the title.
