The time has come to get the team back on track. After losing the Spanish Super Cup and the first match of the Liga Endesa, Barça Regal travel to Bilbao with the obligation to clinch its first victory of the season against the always complicated Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao Basket. The match against the 2010/11 finalists was brought forward by one hour so as to not overlap with the Clásico (FC Barcelona-Real Madrid).

Necessity to win

After losing in the final of the Spanish Super Cup to Real Madrid and dropping points in surprising fashion at the Palau in the Liga Endesa, against Blancos Rueda Valladolid (71-78), the Blaugrana will look for their first victory of the season away to Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao Basket. The two finalists of the 2010/11 Liga ACB will go toe to toe in an attempt to avoid a 0-2 start to their respective domestic campaigns.

Jasikevicius returns

The Jasikevicius-Wallace dilemma was solved in favour of the Lithuanian player. ‘Saras’ will once again don the Barça Regal strip in a Liga Endesa game nine years after his last match as a Blaugrana. His last game for Barça was on June 24 of 2003 away to Pamesa Valencia. In that match, the Blaugrana claimed the Liga title (74-82), and Jasikevicius was named the MVP of the final series. It’s worth noting that Navarro will not feature in the game this Sunday due to injury.

Defeat to Gran Canaria

Gescrap Bizkaia Bilbao Basket come into this weekend’s match with the same need to win. The Basques also lost their first match of the Liga Endesa, against Herbalife Gran Canaria (65-59).
