The quarter-finals playoffs couldn’t have gotten off to a better start for FC Barcelona Regal. Xavi Pascual’s men defeated Panathinaikos by 72 to 70, and they got the first of the three victories needed to qualify for the Final Four in London.

In addition, the Blaugrana also reached their 200th win in the Euroleague which makes them the second team ever to reach this number of wins in the continental competition. Navarro, Tomic, Marcelinho and company wrote another page in the Club’s history books and they inched farther away from their most immediate pursuer in the standings, Panathinaikos, who have won a total of 180 games in the Euroleague.

Close to the leaders, CSKA

In fact, the only team that have more wins under its belt in the competition are CSKA Moscow, with a total of 202 wins. The Russians will feature this evening in their first match of the quarter-final series against Caja Laboral. If CSKA fail to qualify for the Final Four, they could see their record broken by Barça Regal, if, of course, the Blaugrana make it to London.

The top 5 teams with the most wins in the Euroleague are as follows: CSKA Moscow with 202 wins, Barça Regal with 200, Panathinaikos with 180, Maccabi Tel Aviv with 171 and Caja Laboral with 171.
