Xavi Pascual was named Best Manager of the Regular Season of the Liga Endesa for the third year in a row. The FC Barcelona manager received the award after leading his team to the top of the table after 34 matches with a record of 29 victories and only 5 defeats. FC Barcelona Regal, on week 33, sealed first place in the regular season with a match still in hand.

The Barça manager will be awarded the trophy this Monday, May 7th, at the ACB play-off gala. The award is jointly designated by the AEEB and the ACB, Pascual has already won the accolade two times (2010/11 and 2009/10).

Very grateful for the prize

The Catalan manager is very pleased with the award, but he noted that it doesn't belong just to him, but to the whole team. “This award is an acknowledgement of the work done these past couple of months, but all of my collaborators and players are equally complicit in this recognition. Without them this would not be possible,” said Pasual. He added, “we’ve been leaders of the regular league for three years, I believe that has a lot of merit.”

Another reason that Pascual is proud of winning the award is because of the especially difficult season his team has had. “It’s been a year full of difficulties, but this group has always been strong and united, and after this season’s adversities - we place high value on this prize,” said the Barça Regal manager.
