The Barça Regal players are waiting to know who they will face in the semi-finals of the Liga Endesa. The first match of the series will be played on Thursday at the Palau and the rival will be the winner of the quarter-final series between Valencia Basket and Lagun Aro GBC. The final match of the quarter-final series between the two sides will be played at 20:30 on Tuesday at the Pabellón San Luis. Perasovic’s men won the first match at home (82-60) and Sito Alonso’s men won the second match in San Sebastián (86-82).

History on Barça’s side

Regardless of the rival, Xavi Pascual’s men have beaten both Valencia Basket and Lagun Aro GBC in the four matches that brought the teams together (two against each team). The first, on the seventh match day of the Liga Endesa, was played on Valencia’s court. Barça Regal won by 68 to 72, including 14 points from Navarro. Barça also played away to Lagun Aro in San Sebastián. Mickeal, with 17 points, led the Catalans to a comfortable victory (56-71).

Last April, Barça Regal hosted the teams at the Palau Blaugrana. The first was against Valencia Basket, the match ended with a narrow victory for the Catalans (76-72). The second match was won more convincingly, Barça took the match against Lagun Aro by 16 points (77-61).

A final against Valencia

Barça Regal and Valencia Basket played in the final of the ACB in the 2002/03 season. The Catalan claimed the title with sweep in the final series. Barça won both of its games at the Palau (76-74 and 80-72) and won the third and final game in Valencia (74-82). The last time the two teams played against each other in the playoffs was in the 2008/09 season. Pascual’s men made quick work of the Naranjas in the quarter-final series as the Catalans marched on to claim the title.
