FC Barcelona Regal’s number ’21’ is, along with Erazem Lorbek, the most on form power forward that Barça Regal has had so far this season. He won the second game day’s MVP and just recently came in second to Valencia’s Nando De Colo, evaluated at 37, to Boni’s 35. Despite his 34 years of age, Ndong is enjoying a certain youthfulness when he plays in one of the old continent’s strongest teams. Pascual is giving his power forward confidence, and the Senegalese is responding with fantastic numbers.

On form since the end of last season

‘Boni,’ as he’s known in the Barça Regal dressing room, is enjoying three months, not counting the two month break, of extraordinary form. The Barça Regal player finished last season at a very high individual level: in the final game, the third played in Mirivilla, Ndong scored 9 points and captured 6 rebounds, obtaining an evaluation of 15.

Since then, taking into account official games played in the Liga ACB this season, he’s been playing even better. Boniface Ndong averages 11.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 25 minutes per game, a significant improvement from the end of the 2010/11 season.

In fact, Ndong is putting up his best numbers since donning the Barça Regal uniform. In the second game day, Ndong was named MVP with an evaluation of 29 (21 points, his best for Barça Regal, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 fouls received).

Four games later, he bested his previous numbers. In the latest game, when his team played FIATC Joventut, the Senegalese finished with the stratospheric evaluation of 35 (20 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks, and 3 fouls received during his 31 minutes on the court).

Spectacular Power

Just as he said a couple of days ago, Ndong aims to please the fans. The dunk is part of the Senegalese’s repertoire when he’s in the paint, and he can always finish off a play with one if needed. This Sunday, against Peya, Ndong overjoyed the fans in the Palau with 2 dunks; he now has 12 dunks in 6 games. One of the persons largely responsible for Ndong’s spectacular finishes is Marcelinho Huertas, who finished the game against his ex-team with eight assists.
