There’s a lot of confidence and optimism among the Barça Regal players ahead of the last game of the Liga Endesa final series, which will be played on Saturday at the Palau at 19:00. Xavi Pascual’s men, who have home-court advantage, will try to claim the title in the fifth game and final game of the series after beating Madrid on Wednesday at the Palacio de los Deportes. All of the Barça players expect it to be a difficult match but the fact that it’s at home can be a massive advantage. “We have to be faithful to our philosophy, defend really well and be calm. We need to have clear heads and we have to know what we want to do,” said Fran Vázquez.

Rebounds, key in winning the title

After the first four games of the series, the Barça Regal players highlighted the importance of controlling rebounds: “we have to dominate in the rebound department, they ate us alive in the third game and in the fourth we dominated. It will be vital in the fifth match,” said Víctor Sada.

Full of confidence

The fifth game is expected to be very even. However, the fourth win on Madrid’s court has given the Barça players a lot of confidence. “Winning gives you confidence, but when you lose you mentally prepare a lot better for the next game,” said Sada. The player added that “two of the three Ligas that I’ve won have been at the Palau and as the song says, there is no second without a third.” The players are also very eager to play the game: “we’re going to give it our all and we’ll see what happens,” said Erazem Lorbek.
