Xavi Pascual was happy with his team’s win over Blancos de Rueda Valladoid, while pointing out that Barça needs to improve in some areas: “It’s an important victory, but it could have ended differently if we hadn’t lost our concentration when we had a 15 point lead.”

Barça Regal was forced to fight for the victory in the final quarter of the match, an all together too familiar occurrence in the last three games. “The common denominator in all of these games is that we had an advantage and in the end we lost it. However, these last three games have all been different,” said Xavi Pascual.

The manager said he wasn’t happy with his team’s overall play, because they didn’t put it away until the final minutes. “In the final minutes of a game there are no ‘buts.’ We had to play really well and we had a lot of fluidity that we simply didn’t have before.”

“We didn’t compete like we always do, but these are tough games. We had to fight till the end.”

“We need to take note of what happened and improve our game.”

No news on Ricky Rubio

With the NBA lockout in full effect, rumours have been swirling around Ricky Rubio and the possibility of him returning to Barcelona to train with the team. “I don’t think he’s talked with the Club. We have great memories of Ricky Rubio, he’s a great kid. I’m sure that if he asked for anything, that we’d listen,” said Pascual.
