The play-offs are here. After the conclusion of the Liga's regular season, the presentation of the play-offs took place this Monday at the Goyeneche Auditorium in Madrid. The top eight finishers in the league will start their title bids on May 17. The ceremony was attended by Joan Creus, Barça’s technical secretary; Joan Carles Raventós, director responsible for Barça’s basketball program; Xavi Pascual, Barça Regal manager and the player Erazem Lorkbek.

Pascual and Lorbek the focus of attention

The Barça Regal manager was one of the main protagonists of the night. Pascual was awarded the prize that distinguishes him as the best manager of the regular season. This is the manager’s third consecutive Best Manager award.

The Barça Regal player, Lorbek, talked about his team’s upcoming quarter-final rival, Luncentum Alicante: “we’ll have to play well if we want to beat Luncentum again. It’s always difficult when they know you so well.” It’s worth mentioning that both teams have played against each other three times this season, two times in the regular season and once in the Cup. Barça won all three meetings.

Kaloyan Ivanov, Lucentum Alicante’s representative at the gala, said that “being here [in the play-offs] is a success, but we want more, because that’s what allows us to keep on growing.” Lucentum Alicante sealed qualification for the play-offs on Sunday.

Panko, MVP

Andy Panko, Lagun Aro, was named the MVP of the regular season. Juan Carlos Navarro finished fifth. It's worth mentioning that Erazem Lorbek was named to the All Star ACB team of the regular season, along with Llull (Madrid), Vidal, Panko (Lagun Aro) and Teletovic (Caja Laboral).
