This Saturday’s match at 20:30 on Blancos Rueda Valladolid’s court can be special for Juan Carlos Navarro. The player will reach his 500th game in the Liga Endesa, the second active player to do so; only Carlos Jiménez has played more games (620).

The current Barça Regal captain made his debut at the tender age of 17, during the 1997/98 season, in the match against Granada, scoring 10 points. “I remember going out onto the court to give it my all. I had a great time. I also remember that the Palau chanted my name after the first couple of minutes. That’s where it all started,” said Navarro.

He’s always defended the Barça colours since then - except in the 2007/08 season where he played for Memphis - and he’s currently the second best three-point shooter of the League and the active player with the most points scored. “I have six titles and I hope to win more. I’m very pleased that so much has been won and I’m happy to be in a Club like Barça, they always aspire to win everything.”

“I dedicate it all to my teammates, the Club and my family, who put up with me year after year,” said Navarro, Barça’s record-man.
