Barça Regal will once again test its metal against a team from the NBA. Xavi Pascual’s men will face the Dallas Mavericks during the NBA Europe Live 2012 tour on October 9 at the Palau Sant Jordi. Counting the match against the Los Angeles Lakers two years ago, this will be Barça Regal’s seventh game against a professional team from the NBA.

2011 NBA champions

The Dallas Mavericks are one of the best teams in the North American League. In fact, the team managed by Rick Carlisle won the first NBA championship in the 31-year history of the franchise. The Mavs downed the Miami Heat, reigning champions of the NBA, in the final series by 4-2.

This season, the Mavericks were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Oklahoma City (4-0). The team led by Dirk Nowitzki finished seventh in the regular season.

Four matches in Europe

The Barça Regal vs Dallas Mavericks match will be the last of four matches played in Europe for the 2012 NBA Live tour. The Boston Celtics will face Fenerbahçe Ulker in Istanbul (October 5) and Emporio Armani in Milan (October 7), and the Dallas Mavericks will play against Alba Berlin in Germany on October 6.

Presentation on Thursday

The match will officially be presented at the Barcelona Olympic Museum on Thursday, June 28, at 13:00. Joan Bladé, director responsible for FC Barcelona Regal, Maite Fandos, lieutenant governor of Barcelona, Jesús Bueno, vice president of the NBA in Europe and Jordi Bertomeu, CEO of the Euroleage, will be in attendance.
