It’s game two of the Liga Endesa final between Barça Regal and Real Madrid, with the former looking to go 2-0 in the series, meaning they’ll then only need to win one of the remaining three games to ensure the Spanish championship title.

Psychological blow

The way Barça Regal won on Wednesday may have a lot to do with the way the teams approach tonight’s duel, and Madrid in particular will need to recover from the psychological blow of losing a match that they led by 17 in the third period.

Palau factor

Yet another amazing atmosphere is expected at the Palau Blaugrana, where tickets are almost sold out and the home fans will be do all they can to add to the pressure on Real Madrid. One comforting thought is with Xavi Pascual on the bench, Barça Regal have never lost at home to Real Madrid.

Lorbek wants defensive improvement

“If we want to win, we’ll have to play a lot better, and we can’t let them build up such a lead”, said Barça centre Boniface Ndong before the match. “They are a good team and in order to win we’ll have to do better in defence”, added Erazem Lorbek.

The team is certainly going to have to do something to stop Madrid scoring. In game one, they topped twenty points in all of the first three periods, for a total of 66.

But history is in Barça Regal’s favour. In 92.86% of the finals played to date, whoever has won game one has gone on to win the series. And if it goes to 2-0 tonight, then their chances will be better still.
