Cream of European basketball talent in the Palau Blaugrana

The FC Barcelona arena hosts the Jordan Brand Classic to pick the best continental players born in 2001 who will go on to face their American peers in New York

The Jordan Brand Classic, the prestigious event that picks some of the most promising U16 players in the hoops world, held its European leg in Barcelona for the third time this weekend, featuring a host of continental talent born in 2001.

Barça represented

The youngsters spent the weekend working under the orders of double NBA champ Ray Allen, and 1979 winner Jack Sikma, first at the Ciutat Esportiva and then at the Palau Blaugrana, where the final was played.

There were three FC Barcelona Lassa players involved: Tom Digbeu, Oier Ardanza and Erik Kall.

New York prize

20 players, including FCB’s Tom Digbeu, were picked to play in the final, which was won by the Black team, 75-56 against the Greys.

Ten of the players that appeared in that game will now be travelling to New York to feature in the final of the Jordan Classic. The European team, Digbeu included, will be playing a team from the Americas.
