Supporters Clubs observe World Rare Disease Day

A reception was held at the Social Area of Camp Nou

World Rare Disease Day was observed around the globe on 29 February, with the FC Barcelona supporters club movement joining the cause to support all those families affected by these conditions.

The FCB Foundation and FC Barcelona, in cooperation with the World Confederation of Supporters Clubs through the Solidarity Council and the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (FEDER) held a reception for fifteen people with these types of diseases that came from both Catalonia and the rest of Spain.

The event was held at the New Social Area at Camp Nou in the hours before the match between FC Barcelona and Sevilla and was promoted by FEDER President Juan Carrión. Club director Pau Vilanova and Patron of the FC Barcelona Foundation, Maria Teixidor attended the reception, which highlighted the need to continue working to spread information about existing problems with rare diseases.

In addition, the event attended by Foundation Patron Mohamed Chaib and Social Commission director Jordi Durà that ended with a family photo before attending the match between FC Barcelona and Sevilla.
