The president of FC Barcelona, Josep Maria Bartomeu, had a busy day on May 31 with the supporters clubs from Andalusia. In the morning the Barça President, accompanied by director Pau Vilanova, and the Barça Players Association President, Ramon Alfonseda, travelled to Montilla, a town in the province of Cordoba, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Montillana Barcelona Supporters Club.

He travelled from Malaga by car to Montilla where he was received by the local mayor, Federico Cabello. Bartomeu was invited to visit the Bodegas Perez Barquero and then went straight to the premises of the supporters club headed by Carlos Vilagran. Here he unveiled a plaque to mark the golden jubilee of the Montillana Supporters Club. The celebration ended with a lunch.

That same afternoon President Bartomeu went back to Malaga, where since Friday the XI Congress of Supporters Clubs from Andalucía, Ceuta and Melilla, is being held.

"There is hope and new strengths"

Josep Maria Bartomeu spoke in Montilla about the current Barça situation. "Now, with new coach Luis Enrique, there is hope and new strengths. We’ll create a team to challenge for all the titles. Within the Club we are aware of, and will take responsibility for, the changes that must be made to the team".
