The Penya Union Blaugrana were the hosts in Scotland

A dinner and a conference were the main events of the supporters club activity in Scotland

On occasion of the Champions League game at Celtic, the Penya Union Blaugrana from Perth (Scotland) was the host for the FCB supporters in Glasgow.

The events started with a dinner organised by the club and attended in representation of FC Barcelona by Jordi Moix, director of the Economic and Strategy Area, and Josep Maria Barnils, director of the Social Commission responsible for foreign clubs.

The supper was held at the Barça Tapas and Cava Bar, Glasgow, and was also attended by representatives of the Penya Blaugrana London of Great Britain, the Peña Barcelonista Ciutat de Peñíscola and the Penya Barcelonista de Calafell.

At the end of the meal, the president of the Penya Union Blaugrana, Colin Scrimgeour, gave a short speech in English and the vice president, Adam Brown, spoke in Catalan.

Wednesday at the University of Glasgow

On the day of the match, November 7, the events began that were being organised for the first time as a joint venture involving FC Barcelona and the Institut Ramon Llull, an agreement which the two organisations have signed for the promotion of Catalan culture abroad.

It all started with a debate titled “Football and Barça, Passion and Culture”. The speakers were Josep M. Barnils, director of the Social Commission and responsible for foreigner supporters clubs, Adam Brown, vice president of the Penya Union Blaugrana and Mateusz Szczepanski, spokesman for Fan Club Barça Polska.

The conference was attended by supporters club members and Glaswegian students, and focused on telling the world what being a member of a supporters club is  all about.
