The Penya Blaugrana de Tona held the 9th Trobada de Penyes d’Osona and Ripollès, as well as their own 5th anniversary, beginning on Saturday September 8th. After welcoming speeches from Carles Rexach and journalist Pere Escobar, the celebrations moved to the municipal football pitch for the presentations of the winners’ trophies of the Seven a side football competition being held there.

Full of activities

Following a round table with Carles Rexach, José Luis Carazo, Pere Escobar and Jaume Creixell, the Gala Dinner was held. Sunday morning began with a breakfast at the clubhouse, followed by the unveiling of a replica of the shield placed by the club in the Camp Nou on May 19th 2010 and a carnival procession through the streets of Tona.

FC Barcelona Vice-President Jordi Cardoner i Casaus attended the lunch to celebrate the Tona club anniversary and the 9th Trobada de Penyes d’Osona and Ripollès, which was held with 150 people. Cardoner thanks the penyes for all the efforts they make and stressed the youthful nature of the Tona Penya, whilst explaining that acts like the Trobada are what make Barça what it is and insisted that the Club has an obligation to support Penya events.

Finally, Jordi Cardoner handed out a commemorative plaque to each of the clubs present at the Trobada.
