The Torneo de Peñas Azulgranas came to an end after three intense days of football, with a successful number of participants in both the Alevín and Benjamín categories. La Peña Azulgrana Tàrrega won the Benjamín category and Alzira y Comarca the Alevins but there was also success for the Caracas Azulgrana team who together with the Alevin Champions won the Trofeo Josep Maria Profitós for fair play.

Behind the Peña Tarrega in the Benjamin category were second placed Gran Peña Badajoz and then Peloteros in third spot. The Alzira y Comarca team – traditionally strong in the competition – were followed by Malena in second and Caracas in third place.

All the winners were given tickets by Qatar Foundation for the game against Real Sociedad and the prize giving ceremony was attended by the Club Vice- President for the Social Area , Jordi Cardoner y Casaus, the director of the Comisión Social Josep Maria Barnils, who also has responsibility for Peñas abroad, Comisión Social members Jordi Duran and Xavier Ilincheta, and the Director of the Tournament, the ex-player Julio Alberto.

Trofeo Josep Maria Profitós

For the first time, the tournament featured fair play cards which were added up atteh tend of the event, with the team with most fair play points winning the Trofeo Josep Maria Profitós. Alzira y Comarcas, in the Alevín category and Caracas Azulgrana in the Benjamins, were the winners of this new Trophy which aims to promote the Club’s values.
