Crest inauguration of the PB Chema Corbella Aldehuela del Jerte

Extremadura, Balearic Islands, Navarra, Castile-La Mancha and Castile & Leon were represented on Saturday before Barça v Zaragoza. Six supporters clubs unveiled their crests to leave their mark on the Camp Nou forever.

On the South Ramp of the lateral Zone, the Penya Barcelonista Els Tamarells celebrated its tenth anniversary by finally getting its crest on the façade. The director of the Supporters Clubs Commission, Xavier Ilincheta, did the honours along with Pere Jordà, delegate to the Advisory Committee for the Balearics and Sebastià Oliver, president of the supporters club.

The Peña Barcelonista Valtierra, from Navarra, was also celebrating. This time it was director of the Supporters Clubs Commission, Elvira Pou, who pulled back the curtain, along with the president of the supporters club Roberto Folch. Meanwhile, Xavier Ilincheta did likewise with the crest honouring Peña Barcelonista 20 de Mayo de Miajadas, from Caceres, along with its president Agustín Bellarino.

One of the clubs that brought the most people was from Andrés Iniesta’s hometown. The club from La Mancha is named after the player and unveiled its crest on the South Ramp of the Lateral Zone. Gabriel García, president of the club, did the honours along with director of the Supporters Clubs Commission Daniel Sala, and the player’s own grandfather was among the delegation.

The Peña Barcelonista Los Gabarreros de El Espinar, from Castile Leon was also there, this time at the North Goal, presided by Manel Torrentallé, director of the Supporters Clubs Commission and Francisco Vicente Antón, president of the supporters club.

Special visit

But the most emotional ceremony was surely that for the Peña Barcelonista Chema Corbella, d’Aldehuela del Jerte (Caceres). The surprise came when Txema Corbella himself unveiled a plaque for a club named after him. It was quite an occasion for a man who has done so much for the club for so many years.
