The Generalitat de Catalunya’s offices in Paris were the venue for a reception for the supporters clubs that that travelled for the Champions League quarter final against PSG. Josep M. Barnils, the director of the Social Commission and head of foreign supporters clubs, led the Barça party.

Mathias Kingler, president of the Penya Blaugrana de París, welcomed more than fifty guests in representation of the different supporters clubs that had come from so many different places. Maryse Olivé, the Generalitat de Catalunya’s delegate in Paris, gave an institutional speech to open the event.

Barnils, meanwhile, highlighted the strong presence of Barça supporters in France. Including those in ‘North Catalonia’, there are 14 clubs in the country, the most anywhere in the world apart from Spain.

Meeting at Trocadéro

At five in the afternoon all Barça fans were invited for a mass show of their colours in the Trocadéro. Hundreds of FCB supporters gathered in the famous gardens and as always when they travel around Europe, their behaviour was impeccable and a wonderful advert for the club.
