As part of the Board’s desire to sign such agreements, the vice president of the Institutional Area, Carles Vilarrubí, was at the Supporters Clubs Congress to present the agreement with the Institut Ramon Llull “to increase the visibility of Barcelona and Catalonia around the world”.

Vilarrubí explained that FC Barcelona and the Institute “have realised how similar their interests are when it comes to projecting Catalan culture abroad and have decided to join efforts in pursuit of the same … The objective it is too seek complementary roles in international activities”.

The Institut Ramon Llull will thus be able to connect with the human universe of the supporters clubs, out of which potential students can be found for universities where the Catalan language is taught.

Common prestige

The agreement gives the Club the chance to formalise its role in the academic world and show its commitment to such positive values as culture and the Catalan nation, access to the university culture at top level academic centres, with all of the specific prestige that that entails, and the visualisation in the Catalan speaking world of FC Barcelona’s commitment to its nation’s language and culture.

In summary, the agreement should help both parties to raise awareness of themselves in the respective field of the other, all of which is associated to positive and prestigious values.

The best team and also the best club

The director explained to the supporters club members what programmes have been developed by the Foundation and the values that they have been designed to promote.
