Jordi Cardoner a la Trobada de Penyes del Baix Ebre, Montsià i Baix Maestrat

Sunday 15th April was a special day for the penyes of the Baix Ebre, Montsià and Baix Maestrat with the celebration of the XIII Trobada de Penyes de les Terres de l’Ebre. The event began at 10.30 with a reception at the Ajuntament de Camarles attended by the Director of the FC Barcelona Comissió Social, Enric Tombas.

Procession and welcome

The celebrations continued with at the social centre in Lligallos del Gànguil, followed by a procession through the town to the new clubhouse of the organising club, the PB dels Lligallos, which was then officially opened. The procession then moved onto the Plaça Catalunya, where a reception was held for the participating supporters clubs. A welcoming speech was given by Jordi Cardoner, the vice-president of FC Barcelona’s Àrea Social, followed by Joan Guart, president of PB dels Lligallos and local mayor Joan Curto, who presented each of the 25 participating clubs with a special tie to mark the occasion.

The event continued with an floral offering at the local church, after which a gala lunch was held at the Pla d’en Roca during which commemorative gifts were again presented to the participating clubs and speeches were given by Joan Guart, Ramon Fibla, the delegate for the Terres de l’Ebre at the Consell Consultiu, Joan Curto and Jordi Cardoner.

“Lift up the Penya brand”

Stressed: “the great work that is being done in the Terres de l’Ebre. We need young clubs – like this one – to lift up the Penya brand”.

The XIII Trobada finished with a typical song from the area, with a verse dedicated to each of the guests at the lunch.
