150 people attended the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Penya Barcelonista Vitoria-Gasteiz Euskobarça last Saturday. To coincide with the game in Bilbao, the Vitoria club celebrated its 20 years of existence, with Josep Ramón Vidal-Abarca representing the Club at the event.

Wide range of activities

The club organised a number of activities to celebrate the anniversary and Saturday afternoon saw the conclusion of the children's workshops at the Civic Centre of the Basque capital. Local dignitaries  Javier de Andrés and  Alfredo Iturritxa, supported the event and were accompanied by the honorary president of the club, Jose Alcalde, and the club president and member of the  Consell Consultiu per Euskadi Gorka Muñoz. The event finished with a concert by the Okongo Ama choir, who sang songs in Basque, Catalan and Spanish.

Gala supper followed by gala game

In the evening, the focus moved to the gala supper held in the Gran Hotel Lakua. The official delegation were received with the traditional Basque txalaparta instrument and the meal itself was attended by representatives of nearly all the supporters clubs in the Basque Country, all of whom were looking forward to a great game of football on Sunday, which Bilbao and Barça certainly provided.
