Barça Femení completely overwhelmed Santa Teresa Badajoz on the fourth matchday of the League (10-0). The Blaugrana dominated the game from beginning to end, with Lieke Martens and Fabiana scoring their first goals as Barça players. With 23 now scored and none conceded this season, Fran Sánchez’s side sit proudly at the top of the table.

Once Toni Duggan took advantage of a great move by Martens to open the scoring after two minutes, the team didn’t look back. By half-time they were already 4-0 up thanks to Alexia, a Gordillo own goal and Martens. The score could’ve been much worse by that stage were it not for a great individual effort by Yolanda Aguirre in the opposition goal.

Grip tightened

The second half saw more of the same great play from the hosts, Vicky Losada and Fabiana with a shot from outside the area making it six by the 55th minute.

Continued intensity and purpose in attack ensured that more goals were just a matter of time. Røddik, Olga Garcia and an Andressa Alves double brought up double figures, giving the team a real confidence boost ahead of their next game against Norway's Avaldsnes in the first leg of the sixth round of the Champions League next Wednesday at 6.00pm CET.
