Alexia broke the deadlock just after the restart | VICTOR SALGADO - FCB

FC Barcelona Women earned their third consecutive win of the season on Sunday at the Ciutat Esportiva, defeating Real Sociedad 2-0 thanks to goals from Alexia Putellas and Olga Garcia.

Despite being strong favourites for this one, Barça were fortunate not to be the ones going behind when the Basques missed a clear chance after just two minutes. Barça slowly grew into the game but the first period brought very little joy for the Catalans.

It took until the second half for Barça to get into gear. Just before the hour mark, Alexia was on hand to head into the net on the rebound for 1-0.

Barça maintained full control of the game and it seemed a matter of time before the game was put to bed, and it eventually came on 80 minutes, as Olga Garcia opened her league account with a strike from just inside the area, keeping the team’s perfect start to the campaign intact.
