Sònia Bermúdez signs for Western New York Flash

FC Barcelona and Western New York Flash have reached a deal for Sonia to sign for the US team Sonia leaves the Camp Nou after winning three league titles, tone Spanish Cups and two Catalan Cups.

Sonia Bermúdez is joining  Western New York Flash after the US Ckub and FC Barcelona reached a deal for her transfer. After claiming her third consecutive league title with the team, Sonia will be leaving after a successful three years under Xavi Llorens that has also seen her win a Spanish Cup and two Catalan Cups with the team.

FC Barcelona understood that the move represents a unique opportunity and have helped the transfer in every way. The Club also wishes Sonia success at her new club.


Sònia Bermúdez joined  FC Barcelona in 2011 from Rayo Vallecano, where she had played since 2004, winning the 2009, 2010 and 2011 league titles and the 2008 Spanish Cup. Before joining Rayo, Sonia had played at  Sabadell (2003-04), Sporting de Huelva (1999-03), Pozuelo and Butarque de Leganés.

She was Barça’s leading scorer in the last two seasons with 34 in the 2011/12 campaign and 21 more in 2012/13. So far this season, she has scored 28.

Sonia will join up with ex-Barça teammate Vicky Losada, who joined Western New York Flash at the end of February.
