FC Barcelona’s Juvenil A team will close out the group stage against Celtic at the Mini this Tuesday (18.00, Eurosport). The Blaugrana have already secured the top spot of the group ahead of Milan, who have also qualified for the next round of the competition.

The match will give Jordi Vinyals the chance to field players who don’t usually get playing time. “We will try to play a good match and secure the three points. We’ll use fresh players given the amount of injuries we currently have on the team,” explained the manager ahead of the match.

“Celtic will make it difficult for us. They are a good team both tactically and physically, they will make us sweat,” analysed the manager.

13 out of 15 possible points

Barça have done extremely well in the competition thus far. They have won four matches, drawn once and they have yet to be defeated. The Blaugrana lead the group on 13 from 15 possible points.

The away match in Glasgow was won, in part, thanks to a brace from Tonny Sanadria, the end result was 1-2.

Seeded team

The fact that Barça have won the group means that they will be a seeded team in the draw that’s scheduled for December 16. The Blaugrana will play the one-off Round of 16 match at the Miniestadi against a team that finished second in their group.

Real Sociedad, Real Madrid, Benfica, Chelsea and CSKA have all qualified for the next round of the competition ahead of this week’s final round of group stage matches.

Free entry

As usual in the UEFA Youth League at the Miniestadi, entry is free for members, supporter clubs, and fans.
