La Masia dominates LaLiga Promises

Barça have won five of the last six editions of the tournament in the 2003, 2004 and 2005 age groups

Barça's youngsters have dominated the LaLiga Promises Tournaments in recent times, winning five of the last six editions in the 2003, 2004 and 2005 age groups with Dani Horcas, Sergi Milà, Marc Serra and Pau Moral on the benches.

The excellent record shows just how well La Masia is going about the formation of these young talents - Barça have won nine national LaLiga Promises titles, five winter international LaLiga Promises and all three tournaments that have been played this summer.

Barça's run of form in LaLiga Promises began in 2015 in Barranquilla (Colombia). The U12s won the summer tournament after beating Sevilla 5-2 in the final, with Àlex Balde, Arnau Farnós, Eric Vega, Mamadou and Marc Pelaz scoring the goals. The same generation (2003) captained by Xavi Simons repeated the feat in 2015 in Miami. Barça beat Valencia 4-3 in the final with goals from Mamadou, Pau Servat and Ilaix (2).

Three more titles

In 2016, in the national tournament against Villarreal, the 2004 generation lost out but soon made up for it with a win a few months later over Tenerife. After eliminating Real Madrid in the semis by 2-0, the youngsters led by Sergi Milà beat Atletico Madrid in the final 6-1.

And finally, in 2017, the U12s claimed two titles in Villarreal and New York. The 2005 generation beat hosts Villarreal 3-1 and then beat Real Madrid in New York 3-2 to cap an excellent all-round showing.
